SMA Inverters SolSource, Inc. is pleased to announce that SMA will be opening its first U.S. manufacturing facility in Denver, Colorado, creating 700 new jobs for the state. SMA inverters convert the direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar panels into grid-compatible alternating (AC) current. For residential and smaller commercial systems, SolSource Energy Solutions, LLC uses the Sunny Boy inverter series for small to moderately-sized residential systems up to 20kW, such as the Sugar Cube Building in Denver, Colorado. For larger commercial applications, SolSource Energy Solutions, LLC uses the SMA Tower for systems from 30 kW to the one megawatt range, and the SMA Sunny Central for installations over 100 kW. SMÅ's compact size and economical price market suitable for starter or demonstration systems, small and mid-range systems, and for adding a bit more power to an existing solar installation. Its modular design makes expansion to almost any size system easy with three different configurable input voltage ranges. One high voltage series string of solar modules can be connected to each inverter, simplifying design and installation. This produces proper matching from parallel connections and Maximum Power Point Tracking for every series string. The modular approach results in a cost effective way to build large systems. Benefits include:
The Sunny Boy is manufactured by SMA America, LLC, the U.S. subsidiary of SMA Solar Technology AG headquartered in Niestetal, Germany. Founded in 1981, SMA is a world leader in solar inverters and monitoring systems for photovoltaic applications. The company manufactures solar inverter technology with divisions in nine countries on four continents. |
